"Crossing the Great Water"
Oil painting on canvas - 84" X 120"
1974>4/2021
This painting was started in 1974, in my warehouse in San Francisco, and it wasn't until our Covid-19 days, in 2021, that I was able to finish it. Named after a term used in the I'Ching, it represents the time of transition from any place of darkness, that which we choose to leave behind, to a new place, of Light and Healing. We need to move through an apex of neutrality, of letting go, cleansed by the water, before we can find our way to the new State of Being. All is new, young and bright, in the New World, with promise, joyfulness and fresh air our blessing, our prize for hard work well done. We have arrived.
Unfortunately, this is the best photo I have been able to take of this painting, in my small studio, as it is so large. As soon as I can get it out of the studio, I will replace this with a better pic.
