Doug Volz was born Dec. 3, 1953, with his Sun in Sagittarius, Moon in Scorpio, and with Aquarius rising. With the death of his father at an early age, his mother, Jan Volz, an abstract artist, took his family to Europe, where he eventually spent his early years in Spain, France, and England. Raised around the famous museums of Paris, Spain, and Italy, he was deeply affected by the way that paintings could express emotion, spiritual faith, or the passing of Time. Blessed with excellent teachers in England and in California, where his family eventually settled, he quickly latched onto oil painting as his chosen means of artistic expression. The paintings of Salvador Dali, Mati Klarwein, and Jorge Gonzalez Camarena particularly influenced his work. Moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in the 70's, he witnessed a wave of Visionary art, and found his place as an artist. As a graduate of the Berkeley Psychic Institute, and a student of Tantra Yoga, the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, and other Masters of timeless wisdom, his message is clear: Discover the Inner Self - the rest will reveal itself in time to be of secondary importance.
