This painting started as an exercise in cold/hot, dark/light, but has become much more than that, to me. That moment when the rising or setting sun touches the Earth, that magical second, which seems to represent that eternal struggle of Light over Dark, then to return once more into Darkness. What would the void of Space be like, without the glimmering stars, which carpet the night sky?
