"The Space Between Thoughts"
oil painting - 30"X 60" 5/2013. This painting portrays a meditation that involves a "sinking down", into deep, deep thought, released from the cares of the world. Impassively, one watches Thought, as, almost, an outsider, like watching leaves pass by, on a gentle mountain stream. In this case, thoughts are perceived, then released, to rise upward like bubbles, as one sinks deeper into a matrix of pure potential, pure Being - no thought. This painting is a self-portrait, and I wanted to show the aspect of elevated consciousness, of reaching upward, from the depths of human material existence, towards the higher reaches of the Mind and Spirit. |
