"Guardians of the Sacred"
oil painting - 24"X 36"
5/2001

Native peoples have a direct connection to Mother Earth, and have not forgotten the importance of living in harmony with Her, as have we. In this way, they are important Teachers to us, if we would only listen. The indigenous people represented in this painting are the Kogi, living in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains, of Northern Colombia, in South America.
They call themselves the Elder Brothers, and know us as the Younger Brothers. For thousands of years, they have kept isolated from us, and have only recently agreed to communicate, because of the message that they want us to hear.
We are killing the Mother, raping and using Her. If we do not stop, the world will end.
A simple message, but one of immense importance, and within our hearts, we hear the Truth. What will we do about it? What will You do about it?

This painting also is available as a poster.
I pledge 25% of the sale of this painting to  caring for indigenous peoples.
